Liza Domestic Shorthair Young Female for sale in Jeannette, Pennsylvania

Liza's story
Poor Liza was a roaming stray in a rural area of Latrobe. SOS was contacted by a concerned homeowner because she had 5 month old kittens under her shed. All the kittens were caught, fixed, tested, and adopted out and we were still trying to trick Liza into a trap, fearing that she was already pregnant again. Finally she was captured on Aug 24, and the very next morning gave birth to 6 more babies! Liza was recently vet checked and to our surprise and complete disappointment tested positive for FIV.( She is NEGATIVE for leukemia) The last male who mated with her must have been the one to infect her, since her previous litter was all negative. We are hoping that her immune system will fight it off since she is receiving excellent care and high quality food and supplements now. We will have her retested when she finishes nursing and is spayed. She is still timid but allows her foster mom to pet her and even pick her up. She wants so bad to be loved, but she is still building trust. Liza deserves a safe indoor home. FIV positive and negative cats can live safely together as long as there is peace and harmony. FIV is only transmitted by deep bite wounds (like when feral males fight) or mating. FIV is not transferred to humans or dogs. Basically it means that their immune system is compromised and they may not be able to fight off other germs as well as a negative cat. WITH PROPER NUTRITION, VITAMINS,REGULAR VET VISITS, AND INDOOR ONLY LIFESTYLE, POSITIVE CATS CAN LIVE JUST AS LONG AS NEGATIVE ONES.
